Springtime Flowers

Well, it’s mid May, it’s cold, and it’s been raining for more than a week in many parts of the country with more to come.  So to put myself and others in a better mood I’m sharing some of the flowers that bloom on My Pink Planet.

What’s More Colorful Than A Peacock?

There’s something about the colors of a peacock that seem to come together so well with rhinestone jewelry.  It’s the perfect combination of deep, rich, color and sparkle.

Notice the beads suspended on gilded wires in the center of each tail feather, this feature adds movement to the design.

A Diversity Of Dragonflies

Working in rhinestone has its limitations in that you are given a finite number of shapes, sizes, and colors to work with.  However, I rather enjoy this challenge.  These three brooches for example, each a different interpretation of a common theme.  Each of these dragonflies are basically simple line drawings, to create depth I’ve graduated the size of the stones and in some parts I have the stones overlapping.    Since the crystals are “hand laid” and each brooch is produced one at a time I can make countless styles of dragonflies and no two will be exactly alike.
